The Best Demon Ever Created

Kurama : YuYu Hakusho

“Obviously you are underestimating Kurama. Do you know why I chose him to be my partner? To avoid fighting him myself. Watch, he’s more cutthroat then I am when it comes to battle, and unbelievably precise.” – Hiei, Yu Yu Hakusho

Yu Yu Hakusho Wiki – Fandom

He’s a genius, foxy guy with a lot of emotional turmoil. His surname is Yoko Kurama from when he was still a high rank demon living as a bandit in the demon world. After his demise, Yoko sends his soul flying to the human world and takes over the body of a baby boy named Shuichi Minamino. This the red-haired version of him that lives with his mother, goes to school and does normal human stuff. Although Yoko retains his memories and personality, Kurama has stated that he is both demon and human, both Yoko and Shuichi. I put him as first mainly because of my bias, but I truly think this character is well-designed, complex and unique plant-based abilities that set him aside from the pack.

Muzan Kibutsuji – Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

“You told me what to do. You deserve death.” – Muzan Kibutsuji, Demon Slayer

cbr.com

Muzan is the Demon King of Demon Slayer, the first of his kind and the ultimate power for anything demon in the series. He is the alpha and not a soul can go against him. For now, at least. Muzan is one of the best demons created because of his sheer power and cruelty that borders on sociopathic. I say borders because he has a family and seems to like, tolerate, love them? He loves high fashion and higher learning and gets his rocks off making sure he stays above everyone he meets. The guy really loves to be the best and absolutely cannot stand being put down. I find it compelling that he is actually a very insecure person with a streak of cowardice. His fragile ego makes it difficult to say he is the most powerful, but his malice and actual disdain for almost everyone and everything not himself is enough to say that most people probably wouldn’t want to fight him.

Inuyasha – Inuyasha (all series)

“Sit, boy!” -Kagome, Inuyasha (all series)

Inuyasha – Fandom

Inuyasha is the main protagonist of the hit show InuYasha. His name means ‘dog demon’ and he is one feisty character. Although a half demon, I included him in this ranking because he is spawn of the high level demon in his world and has power to back up that sassy mouth of his. Often argumentative, stubborn and impulsive, Inuyasha has a strong personality that wins over many people he meets. His friends are steadfastly loyal to him and care deeply for his well-being. And, being the protector that his naturally is, Inuyasha uses his enormous amount of power to back them up. Often to the point of earning a gapping hole in his stomach and still insisting they stay out of the fray. This is one of the main reasons I chose him as one of the best demons created. Who wouldn’t want a loyal friend that could blast through mountains (or something like that) with a swing of his gigantic sword?

Sukuna – Jujutsu Kaisen

“Any hierarchy other than strength is worthless.” – Sukuna, Jujutsu Kaisen

Episode 4 – Crunchyroll.com

Sukuna is one hell of a character. And that’s just his personality. When Yuji Itadori swallows Sukuna’s finger to save his friends, I said to myself, “We got another selfless hero.” Then, we meet Sukuna and boy, what a contrast of good and evil. Sukuna is one of the most powerful characters in the show, his power renowned throughout jujutsu sorcerers and cursed spirits alike. He did not start out as a demon (or cursed spirit) but as a powerful human sorcerer. Greed and power caused him to grow into a force that other sorcerers gave their lives to stop. His fighting style is a mix of martial arts and standing there looking cool while he spews insults at his opponent. He is cunning, sly and loves a good fight. If you watch the show, his power is very interesting. Due to his vast amounts of cursed energy, the guy has crazy speed, strength, reflexes, durability and sorcery abilities. I could not imagine a more ruthless character and one that most would avoid fighting.

Rin Okumura – Blue Exorcist

“Don’t you think that true memories are a combination of fun ones and painful ones?” – Rin Okumura

aonoexorcist.fandom.com

Rin Okumura is one of my favorite characters of all time. Not only do I think he is the epitome of cool, but his character development is excellent. Rin is a teenager living with the fire of Satan coursing through his veins. Because of that, it is hard for him to control his powers and temper, making people avoid him out of fear and disdain. That blue fire plagues him even when he enrolls in a school to FIGHT SATAN. As his son, Rin carries the mark of fear and death should he make a wrong move. I put him on this list because, despite all that and the unfair treatment he receives many times throughout the series, Rin pushes himself to be a good person. He is naturally a nice guy and likes to have fun. This helps him makes friends once he is at True Cross Academy (eventually) and fans get to see him kick the butt of other demons in satisfying fight scenes. He may not be the most powerful of the bunch when it comes to sheer force, but his instincts and morality make him a great characters and lovable demon.
